Millennium Machinery was formed in November of 1999 by Frank Maehr. He spent 15 years promoting EDM for another distributor until Millennium was formed. At first, Millennium only offered preventative maintenance on EDM machines for existing clients.
After a few weeks, Mitsubishi EDM approached Millennium asking them to sell Mitsubishi equipment in Western New York. Millennium flourished with this new task. Since they were so successful, Mitsubishi offered Millennium additional territories in New Jersey, New England , Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
Around this time the uses for EDM grew rapidly. Medical, military, and die mold applications sprung up all over the Northeast. Rather than just supplying a machine for the application, Millennium partnered with Ken Kellerson of Kell Tech which enabled Millennium Machinery to offer complete turnkey solutions for the production EDM Market.
Millennium Machinery also recognized that the proper training of operators is a necessity. As a result, Millennium began offering training classes on machine maintenance, programming, and fixture implementation. Even during expansion, Millennium did not lose sight of our core values: commitment to customer support and availability to our clients day or night.
The rise in machinery installs produced a need to supply consumable products for our clients. To this end, Millennium moved into a 7,000 square foot fulfillment center so that our local clients could enjoy same day delivery of their products.
Over the years, we have added additional products such as Lasers, Press Brakes, Water Jets and Milling machines, but our commitment to customer support has not diminished.
