Nothing quite beats the feeling of achievement. Whether that’s the achievement of launching a shiny new site, improving a conversion rate through testing and optimisation, helping a client develop a business case for a new feature or just getting a (metaphorical) high five from a colleague for an amazing CSS transition. At Dam these achievements are what motivate us, they’re the reason we come to work and they’re one of the reasons that contribute to our amazing client (and staff) retention rate. (We’re also great fun to work with by the way!) It’s very easy to talk about trust, collaboration and transparency but at Dam it’s more than just talk. You can have the best designers, developers and strategists (and we have) but if they’re not trusted, respected and able to work together with clients to achieve together then their talents are wasted. We have no secrets, no dark corners and no staff we don’t consider ‘client-facing’. We love having clients in the office and they love being here – even if the choice of music is not always to everyone’s taste… Alongside that trust is a desire to always do the right thing. Sometimes the right thing is the most difficult thing, sometimes it’s the least profitable thing, and sometimes it’s not doing anything. Caring about our clients and their long-term success makes this easy, because the only thing that beats our feeling of achievement is sharing that achievement with our clients.
