Dakhni Information

A celebration of an incredible journey of Urdu language through the routes of Deccan or Dakkhan, carrying a heritage for generations. A dialect that became the voice of Sufis, writers, poets and most importantly the voice of people of all ages and walks of life marked in history, reaching back home building bonds on spiritual horizons. DAKHNI preserves and promotes Urdu language along with its culture, the essence of its beauty in its purest form. With young enthusiastic minds coming together as a team it shares the knowledge, value and awareness about the various forms of Urdu writing, poetry and current status of the language to people of all ages beginning from Delhi and around the globe. With young enthusiastic minds coming together as a team, the festival aims to share knowledge, and awareness about various forms of Urdu writing, poetry and the current status of the language with people of all ages beginning from 'Delhi' and around the globe. DAKHNI is trying to reach out to urdu artists from all over India and bring them together to promote forms like 'Dastangoi', 'Mushaira' and 'Sufi' music in the age of social media. The celebration/event is scheduled in February-March 2020. However, we aim to bring Dakhni's idea to other cities before the grand celebration next year. Our city tours aim to reach and collaborate with artist that have shared a more intimate relationship with Urdu, therefore bringing the touch of every color from every corner of India to Dakhni. Artists from all over India have been invited to perform at Dakhni and we are looking for collaborations for the same.
