D. L. Adams Associates is a consulting engineering and design firm, specializing in sight, sound, noise, vibration, and information transport. We are experts in acoustics, vibration, performing arts, information technology, and telecommunications. Our Denver, Colorado office serves projects in Europe, South America, and the continental United States. Our Windward Oahu office serves projects throughout the Hawaiian Islands and around the Pacific Rim in countries, such as Japan, Palau, Taiwan, South Korea, Guam and the Northern Marianna Islands. Our engineers are experienced in acoustics, environmental noise assessment, noise control in the work place, performing arts facilities (including the design of performance lighting systems, stage rigging systems, and stage machinery), sound system design, multi-media and audio-visual (AV) system design, theatre consulting, acoustical engineering, and in IT and telecommunications systems design. In the areas of architectural acoustics we provide consulting and design services in room acoustics, sound isolation, mechanical system (HVAC) noise and vibration control. We also conduct environmental noise assessment and abatement studies and industrial noise control engineering services. In addition to acoustics, we bring a wealth of experience to our performing arts projects. This experience consists of theatre planning, performance lighting and lighting control system design, stage rigging system design, stage drapery design, orchestra pit lift design, pit cover design, as well as seating layouts, sightline analyses and general theater consultation. In the areas of Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications we design the systems’ infrastructures. We also design security monitoring and voice and data transfer systems that serve today’s needs as well as those of the future. We are specialists in the integration of IT and AV systems.
