Most composite shops outsource their tooling. The pattern goes to one supplier, the mould gets built at another, and by the time the part comes off the tool nobody can say exactly why it fits the way it does. We build all of it ourselves, in one building in Strathroy, Ontario. The shop runs as six areas: pattern, mould, fiberglass, carbon, spray booth, and trimming and bonding. A part moves through every one of them without leaving the property. Whoever cuts the pattern is still around when the finished panel ships. That's what lets us control the things customers actually care about: how a part fits, what it weighs, and whether it holds up under load. When something isn't right, we know where it came from and we fix it at the source. What we build: - Marine components where weight, strength, and finish all have to hold up - Defense parts to spec - Prototype and development work for R&D programs - Race bodies, panels, and components for teams in [series] - Production carbon for OEM customers We've been doing this since 2001 and every program still teaches us something. Most of what we know came from having to make a part twice. www.cynergycomposites.com
