Cumbria and Lancashire Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) is a new organisation made up of the former Cumbria Probation Trust and Lancashire Probation Trust. Our purpose is to protect the public by delivering effective offender management and rehabilitation services to low and medium risk offenders who are serving community sentences or have been released from prison on licence. We supervise around 5,800 offenders in the community at any one time. To do this, we work closely with a range of partner agencies such as the police, prison service, local authorities, the health service and a range of other community-based organisations. We employ around 400 staff who work in 20 offices across Cumbria and Lancashire, and we have two hub offices situated in Preston and Carlisle. We are one of 21 Community Rehabilitation Companies (CRCs) in England and Wales. The Ministry of Justice has overall responsibility for the CRCs and is also responsible for the courts and prisons.
