This year, Cultured Cowboy is again implementing change to try to be able to pay better wages, to afford health care, to deliver products faster, to streamline all processing, to catch up on all IRS and SC tax payments. Did you know that your returns, if not sold again in a fiscal year, are added to our inventory, and our "profits"? IRS understands that an ostrich seat, custom made saddle that was never a final sale costs us space, is not readily resalable, has been paid to the maker, and should be taxed as a $3000+ profit now, but this Internet has kinda changed real world facts. The saddle is a liability not an asset until it is sold. Both IRS and SC have been very understanding in our predicaments. There was a time, in 1982, when you bought stuff for your local market at $1.00 and sold it for $2.00. You knew your customers and often bought things for your store with your best customers in mind. I can remember coming home from a trade show and having a party to show all the new stuff we had coming soon. You were considered a discounter to sell it at $1.75. Today, we are trying to be competitive at selling for $1.06 to $1.50. Often, your VISA makes more money from your purchase than we do. And, I still buy stuff that You guys tell me you need! I understand that over 80 percent of New Year Resolutions are broken and forgotten within 60 days. In this "real life" of fast challenge, Cultured Cowboy can hardly let our resolutions fail.
