CrossWing® is on a mission to revolutionize immersive communication experiences and assistive care by delivering outstanding interactive service robots which affordably enhance our customers’ safety, security, and joy of living. CrossWing leverages its expertise in remote mobile robotics to deliver enhanced social interactions and communication. Combining state of the art media devices with intelligent semi-autonomous motion, CrossWing’s patented platform enhances user experience through smart control, empowering a new ecosystem of interactive robotics applications in virtual presence, personal support, and remote monitoring markets. CrossWing's extensive R&D is targetted to meet the challenge of delivering low cost, yet real-world functionality with innovations employing new approaches to traditional robotics methods. Breakthrough designs at every key sub-system are necessary for success and we actively leverage university talent pools in areas including man-machine interface design, mechatronics, computer vision, and autonomous systems encompassing artificial intelligence, task planning, object identification and manipulation, and simultaneous localization and mapping. We are engaged in collaborative projects with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, University of Toronto, Univerity of Waterloo, University of Western Ontario, and York University (Mitacs, NSERC, and OCE) - all of which have deployed CrossWing platforms within their research facilities.
