Montessori Living (dba Crossway Community), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community in Kensington, Maryland, reimagining how people learn, live, and cultivate a Montessori style of living across generations. Rooted in Montessori principles, our ecosystem unites The Nature School, The Residences, and The Wellness Studio - powered by the National Center for Montessori and Aging (NCMA). We believe Montessori is not only an educational approach but a way of being - a mindful style of living that nurtures independence, dignity, and belonging from infancy through longevity. Our Approach Every space at Montessori Living reflects three pillars: Learning – nature-based Montessori education that inspires wonder and self-direction. Living – residences where families, guides, and elders share meaningful rhythms of daily life. Longevity – wellness and NCMA programs advancing caregiver education, memory support, and lifelong wellbeing. We don’t separate learning from living - we prepare environments where both unfold side by side, creating continuity between childhood discovery and lifelong growth.
