Creative Space Gallery Information

Founded in 2009 in downtown Vergennes by a group of Vermont artists, Creative Space Gallery provides a tangible connection between the creative arts and community well-being: a showcase for fine art and artisan craft work a meeting place for established and aspiring artists a partner and participant in arts events in Vergennes and Vermont an educational resource for all ages Creative Space Gallery is entirely organized and staffed by volunteer efforts. Creative Space now hosts about 50 member artists, and over the years, some 150 member and guest artists have participated in our exhibitions and community events. Most Vermont artists are independent small business owners, trying singlehanded to manage production, develop new products, handle marketing and sales, and serve their community. That's where Creative Space Gallery comes in to help. In addition to providing a permanent venue for Vermont artists to exhibit and sell their work, we host classes for all ages -- painting, drawing, pastels, glass, basket making, print making and more. Artists demonstrate their work during community events like Vergennes Day and the Holiday Stroll. With the Vergennes Partnership, we initiated and help to organize and host summer Arts Walk events each year. We also participate in statewide arts events, like Vermont Crafts Council's Open Studio Weekends, and the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival Benefit Show. Yet despite all this activity, Creative Space Gallery operates on a shoestring. We hope you will consider getting involved to help us to continue to fulfill our misson of "inspiring a connection between the arts and community wellbeing." Volunteers are always needed to help with gallery operations and community events.
