Founded in 1947, The National Art Education Association is the leading professional membership organization exclusively for visual arts educators. Members include elementary, middle and high school art teachers, college and university professors and researchers, administrators and supervisors, museum educators and artists as well as more than 45,000 students who are members of the National Art Honor Society or are university students preparing to be art educators. We represent members in all fifty states plus the District of Columbia, U.S. Possessions, most Canadian Provinces, U.S. military bases around the world, and twenty-five foreign countries.

Mindful Schools empowers educators to spark systemic change from the inside out by cultivating awareness, resilience, and compassionate action. Our vision is for all children to learn in “mindful schools” that nurture a new generation of leaders to create a more equitable and thriving world. Mindful Schools is a non-profit organization founded in 2007. We are proud to be a partner of choice for over 500 schools across the country. We’ve trained over 70,000 educators through professional development training, community resources and events, and most recently, national schoolwide mindfulness programs. Our programs are all designed by educators, for educators, with educators with deep experience bringing mindfulness to schools with an equity-centered, trauma-sensitive approach.
