The university Claude Bernard Lyon 1 consist of faculties of sciences , medicine and pharmacy. Based on its budget and the number of its research laboratories, the university is seen as the principal higher education establishment of the region and figures in top five French universities.

L’Université Lumière Lyon 2 accueille sur deux campus près de 27 000 étudiantes et étudiants, de la Licence 1 au Doctorat. Elle compte 13 entités de formation réparties dans 4 domaines de formation et de recherche : Arts, lettres, langues / Droit, économie, gestion / Sciences humaines et sociales / Sciences, technologie, santé. Dotée de 33 laboratoires et de 7 fédérations de recherche, couvrant l’ensemble du champ des Lettres - Langues - Sciences Humaines et Sociales (LLSHS), l’Université Lumière Lyon 2 fait le pari de l’innovation, de l’interdisciplinarité, du partenariat et de l’ouverture internationale. Au travers des missions et des projets portés par ses presque 2000 personnels (enseignants-chercheurs et agents administratifs), elle entend inscrire la recherche et la formation au cœur des enjeux scientifiques et sociétaux contemporains. Résolument tournée vers l’international, l’Université Lumière Lyon 2 entretient aujourd’hui 560 accords de coopération avec 370 établissements dans 60 pays. Les étudiants étrangers en échange ou hors échange représentent ainsi 16% des effectifs globaux.

The National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) of Lyon is an international, multidisciplinary Engineering School at the heart of the European Higher Education scene. From its foundation in 1957, INSA Lyon included both international and human & social aspects in the curriculum of its engineers. In fact, equal importance is given to its international relations and openness as to the quality of its education and research.
