Covalingua LLC Information

We first met back in 1999, when we were both selected to join an international translation & interpreting program offered by the University of Granada - Granada, Spain. The Applied Languages Europe Program (or Lenguas Aplicadas Europeas, as it is known in Spanish) is an undergraduate program sponsored by seven prestigious universities across Spain, France, Germany and the U.K. which aims to produce expert language professionals with high linguistic competence in two foreign languages and in-depth knowledge of the societies of the countries concerned. This is achieved through international academic exchanges and specific courses in Law, Economics, Politics and Business, amongst others. Completion of the 4-year curriculum, which includes two extensive research papers, leads to a triple degree reflecting the student's language combination. In our case, we both chose Spanish - English - French as our language combination, therefore spending freshmen and senior year at the University of Granada, sophomore year at the Université Aix-Marseille (Aix-en-Provence, France) and junior year at Liverpool John Moores University (Liverpool, U.K.), which resulted in a Licenciatura en Lenguas Aplicadas Europeas degree, a Maîtrise en Langues Étrangères Appliquées degree and a B.A. (Hons) in Applied Languages Europe. On top of the academic background, we have extensive individual experience working for private clients as well as language service providers. We share a common approach to language services, which defines our professional-yet-friendly attitude and which is at the heart of the creation of Covalingua LLC. Since January 07, Covalingua has a new home in the heart of Barcelona, Spain. Most of the company's Project Management and Production Department is now concentrated in Spain where Project Managers work different shifts to adjust to our different time zone operations. We are happy to have increased our team by two members, Pilar Pinilla (link) and Mariah Fike (link), who started this past March as Translation and Interpreting/ESL SSL Project Managers respectively. Pilar and Mariah bring their own style, skills and expertise to the table.
