Space now sits at the heart of the security agenda. It has become inseparable from resilience, readiness and strategic autonomy, which is why it is receiving far greater weight in defence planning than at any previous point. Across Europe, governments, NATO and the European Union are all advancing programmes that depend on closer collaboration with commercial innovators, more responsive acquisition structures and stronger supply chain depth. Yet much of this activity still develops in parallel rather than in concert, which extends delivery timelines, disperses effort and reduces the opportunity to build capability with greater coherence and effect. Counterspace is intended to respond to that need by creating a forum in which institutional priorities and industrial capability can be brought into direct alignment, enabling more focused dialogue and stronger partnerships. Designed for NATO, the European Union, and the wider allied community, it is intended to provide a serious setting in which defence institutions, industry, investors, academia, startups, and SMEs can engage on the strategic, technological, and industrial questions now defining the future of space security. Brussels is home to both NATO and the European Union, allowing Counterspace to convene decision-makers who shape capability requirements and funding instruments and regulatory frameworks.
