Costello Irish Dance Information

The mission of Costello Irish Dance is to train champions of Irish dance. We believe that every child has unbelievable talent that is just waiting to be uncovered. We are committed to working with each student to make them the best possible dancer they can be. We begin teaching all basic skills needed for Irish dance – posture, arches, crossing, timing, turnout, and straight legs – and consistently work towards mastering them. Four programs are offered: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond. All students begin in Bronze and advance to the next level depending on their experience and standing. A part of all class time is dedicated to improve flexibility in order to enhance technique while preventing injury. Costello Irish Dance places emphasis on mental training. Sport psychology is introduced in Bronze and used consistently throughout each program. Visualization and other mental exercises are used for enhancing athletic performance and increasing confidence. We strongly believe the social and psychological benefits of sports psychology enhance one’s dancing ability.
