Corus builds real-time monitoring technology for the HVAC service industry. Our first product, the Vigil, monitors 27 parameters across any vapor-compression air conditioning or heat pump system — continuously, not just when someone calls. Most HVAC customers don't have a service plan. For the majority of systems in the field, there is no scheduled maintenance visit — only a service call when something stops working. Even for customers on a plan, that's two visits a year. Either way, the window for catching problems early is narrow at best, and for most systems it doesn't exist at all. That means a slow refrigerant leak in March becomes a compressor failure in July. A failing capacitor in spring becomes an emergency call on the hottest day of the year. The contractor who installed that system three years ago is now competing for a customer they're about to lose — not because they did anything wrong, but because they couldn't see what was coming. The Vigil changes that. Contractors who deploy it catch developing failures before peak season, fill shoulder-season weeks with proactive scheduled work, and give their customers a reason to stay — because they're the company that calls before the breakdown, not after. Each monitored unit functions like a technician already on site. Fault detection maps directly to part numbers, so the truck that rolls actually has what it needs. Corus is based in Wichita, Kansas.
