Coroner Information

Dr. Brian Treon, M.D. was appointed to the position of Coroner of Clermont County in August of 2002. Dr. Treon has subsequently been elected to the office and has served since. Dr. Treon grew up in Englewood, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. He graduated with Honors from Northmont High School and was active in multiple sports. Dr. Treon was admitted with distinction to the University of Cincinnati where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology. He Was his fraternal organizations President, a member of the McMicken Honor Society, as well as serving as Intramural Chairman. Dr. Treon matriculated his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. While in college and medical school, Dr. Treon worked in the Montgomery County Coroners Office as an autopsy technician. In June 1997, Dr. Treon completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at York Hospital, Pennsylvania. The last year was spent as Chief Resident. Since completion of residency, Dr. Treon has worked as a staff physician and Medical Director in multiple local Emergency Departments. Dr. Treon is a former small business owner/operator and currently works at the Bethesda North Hospital Emergency Department. Dr. Treon is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a member of the Ohio State Medical Association and Ohio State Coroners Association. Dr. Treon continues his training in Medico-Legal Death investigation through hundreds of continuing education hours conducted by the Ohio State Coroners Association. Since taking office, Dr.Treon has overseen the conversion of the Coroners Office records to a computerized system. A mass fatality plan has been developed and the office has participated in multiple mock disasters. Communication between Law Enforcement and EMS has improved as Dr. Treon frequently is involved with scene investigations and reporting.
