MISSION: Corona del Sol High School strives to foster a positive, comprehensive academic and co-curricular environment in which excellence and ethics are the cornerstone of success. SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY: One of seven public high schools in the Tempe Union High School District, Corona del Sol High School is located in south Tempe, Arizona. It opened its doors in 1977 and is accredited by AdvancED/NCA. Routinely earning a performance grade of “A” from the Arizona Department of Education, the school educates students in grades nine through twelve. Furthermore, Corona is recognized as an A+ School of Excellence by the Arizona Education Foundation. In 2009, the school earned the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Blue Cup Award, and, again in 2015, Corona won the 4A/5A Arizona Interscholastic Association 2015 Director’s Cup for reaching the pinnacle of excellence in high school athletics, activities, scholastics, service, community, and character-based initiatives.
