Core Maritime Information

Core Maritime Corporation (CORE), a Filipino owned company, is engaged in the sea transport of refined petroleum products in the Philippine coastwise trade. The company started operations in 1988 with two chartered foreign vessels for use in the domestic trade. After two years of operations, the company bought its first vessel, the M/T Core Diamond. By 1992, its fleet had grown to three vessels with the acquisition of M/T Core Ruby and the Bareboat hiring of the M/T Hakuba, subsequently purchased and renamed M/T Core Sapphire. At the present time, CORE Maritime is stronger than ever and is staffed with essentially the same personnel that started the company in 1988. It now owns and operates the M/T Core Amethyst purchased in September 2002 and the M/T Core Garnet purchased in October 2004. The company obtained its ISO 9002 Certificate on February 22, 1999. It was also issued a Document of Compliance (DOC) on February 25, 1999, establishing CORE as a world class ship owning and management company. All CORE vessels have obtained Ship Management Certificates (SMCs) in accordance with the IMO ISM Code.
