Fattoria della Piana is a cooperative of farmers born in 1936 that mainly operates in the dairy industry. Constantly growing, it is nowadays the first producer of pecorino cheese of Calabria region. Today the various activities of the company cover all processes and stages. There are more than 900 cows at our farm that are milked in a modern computerized milking room; everyday about 20.000 liters of high quality cows’ and sheep’s milk are produced from our own breeding. Cultivating, harvesting and storing forage are also carried out directly by our staff, including cultivation of 50 hectares of citrus plantation destined to production of Clementine that are distributed all over the Italian market. In December 2008, Fattoria delle Piana started to produce energy thanks to the biomass energy plant realized.
