CoolCore is an early stage medical device company spun out of leading-edge research sponsored by the National Science Foundation and conducted at UT Austin. We have invented a novel, disruptive, technology platform; including, patent pending devices and methods for manipulating the core thermal state of mammals on demand (altering body temperature.) Unique features of our ‘Smart’ temperature management technology are that it is safe, totally noninvasive, operates in concert with the body’s natural thermoregulatory function, is portable, and designed to be deployed rapidly and conveniently by anyone anywhere. In support of this technology, we are able to apply a broad and comprehensive understanding of bioheat transfer and human thermoregulation principles. This capability is reflected in unique modeling and simulation capabilities that we have developed, as well as in the new therapeutic devices we have invented. We have arguably the best team in the world to optimize the science of temperature management, and our advanced analytical and experimental capabilities will continue to inform and drive the process of innovation in bioheat transfer devices into the future.
