The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) strives to protect the American Dream of housing opportunities for all, while working to achieve professional success for its members who build communities, create jobs and strengthen our economy.
Each year, NAHB members construct about 80% of the new homes built in the United States.
A federation of more than 700 state and local associations, NAHB represents more than 140,000 builder, remodeler, specialty trade, sales and marketing, design, housing finance, and building supply/manufacturing members.
Since its inception in the early 1940s, NAHB has served as “the voice of America’s housing industry.” Its primary goals are to ensure that housing is a national priority and that all Americans have access to safe, decent and affordable housing, whether they choose to buy a home or rent.
NAHB’s Annual Convention and Exposition, the International Builders’ Show (IBS - BuildersShow.com), is the largest annual event for the residential and light commercial construction industry.
For more than 100 years the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has been and still is the leading association for the construction industry. We are the oldest and largest construction association representing general and specialty contractors and represent more than 27,000 firms, including over 6,500 of America’s leading general contractors, over 8,800 specialty-contracting firms, and more than 10,400 service providers and suppliers. We advocate for the interests of the industry, educate members about the latest in construction techniques and technology, and connect construction professionals with one another through a nationwide network of chapters. Visit the AGC website at www.AGC.org.
HBI (Home Builders Institute) is a national nonprofit that provides skilled trades training, curriculum development and job placement services for the building industry.
The objective of all HBI programs is to train, credential, and place students in jobs within the construction industry and enable our students to positively transform their lives by providing a solid career trajectory.
All programs and trainings are at NO COST to our students. We achieve this thanks to very generous efforts and contributions from private and corporate sponsors, state and local grants, and individual donors.
HBI training programs are taught across the country to at-risk youth, Veterans, transitioning Military members & their families, justice-involved youth and adults, displaced workers, high schools and trade schools, and adults starting a career in construction.
Our curriculum is 1 of only 3 nationally recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Labor.
HBI curriculum is available for purchase for schools, community programs, and re-entry and rehab programs.
