Construct Foundation Information

Construct Foundation champions the student experience from PreK to age 16 by supporting innovative projects, initiatives, schools, and edupreneurs that elevate 21st Century skills as foundational knowledge. Established in 2013, the Foundation is building a portfolio of partners and mutually reinforcing education initiatives to achieve its mission, “to identify and support new models for teaching and learning"​ by prioritizing K-12 students in Portland Metro’s underserved communities. With the current two-tier system of education, resource and opportunity disparities are widening. Underserved students are disproportionately taught using an antiquated model while privileged students are engaged in student-led inquiry and applied learning opportunities that set them up for employment and leadership success in tomorrow’s society. We believe all kids deserve access to the educational, economic, and cultural riches of our current and future generations. To do this, education needs more than reforming. It needs reinventing.
