We are NEKO: A Cat Cafe. Our mission is to put a smile on your face and a cat on your lap all while helping out cats that need us most. Inspired by the cat cafe culture of Japan, NEKO is a fun and unique space that brings humans and cats together. We partner with shelters across the country to help cats who are Feline Leukemia positive and find them FURever homes. NEKO was founded by Caitlin Unsell and Cory James who after spending 2 years living in Sapporo, Japan came back to Seattle, WA with a dream of opening their own cat cafe. We are always looking to broaden our NEKO pride.

We are a neighborhood café in Northeast Portland, Oregon, offering coffee, tea, beer, wine, and food. In our lounge area, adoptable cats roam freely and welcome your visit. We look forward to meeting and serving you. we are temporarily closed as we plan and implement next steps. We have high hopes for the future and are grateful for all the support and encouragement over the last few months. we will post updates as soon as we know more about a reopening date.
