Truro School, founded in 1880, is a co-educational independent school located in the beautiful county of Cornwall, providing outstanding education for ages 3 to 18. We challenge, inspire and support pupils as individuals to grow intellectually, personally and spiritually, and to achieve their potential. We aim to inspire a life-long interest in learning, equipping pupils with the essential skills to tackle the future with confidence and a degree of independence, and to succeed in whatever careers they choose. We are proud to provide an excellent comprehensive education for over 1620 students aged 11–18 [including 260 in the Sixth Form] from Newquay and the surrounding area. Tretherras is extremely popular with parents, and is regularly oversubscribed in all year groups, because of its warm welcoming ethos, extremely high standards and wide range of extra curricular activities. The staff work very effectively as a team and the atmosphere at Tretherras is characterised by positive relationships between everyone.
