Consept is a social investment think tank based in Indianapolis. We build the diagnostic tools and organizational frameworks that help funders, lenders, and intermediaries know what they're actually investing in — and help the organizations they back perform at the level the investment requires. Our work runs three lines, one throughline: closing the gap between what an organization intends to do and what it's actually equipped to execute. BoardPulse is our diagnostic instrument, a structured assessment of nonprofit governance, financial management, fund development, and impact measurement — free for nonprofits, with an institutional tier for funders and CDFIs who need portfolio-level data. For organizations that need more than a diagnostic, we co-develop the governance structures, fund development frameworks, and impact measurement infrastructure that let them perform consistently over time. And we build community investment frameworks and playbooks for funders and intermediaries designing community-centered capital strategies — Fund What Matters, our published playbook for Black alumni associations building independent giving infrastructure, is the current example in market. We're also building Alumni Capital Cooperative, a purpose-built giving platform that lets alumni associations hold and govern their own funds directly, with no nonprofit formation required — targeting 15–25 associations in Year 1. Consept is built on two decades of underwriting logic: before a dollar moves, you have to know whether the organization can execute.
