Connecticut Pharmacy Information

Connecticut Pharmacy is a closed door, long-term care pharmacy that services assisted living communities, schools and summer camps, group homes, hospitals and hospice groups throughout the state. Our goal is to make medication management easier by focusing on 4 key values: Accuracy, Availability, Consistency, and Support and Training. In doing so, we strive to be more than just a pharmacy, but rather an integral part of your complete healthcare team. Accuracy and Consistency We offer multiple packaging options that meet regulation compliance for different healthcare sectors. These include vials, blisters, weekly planners, unit dose packaging and the Medicine-On-Time multi-dose packaging system. Our multi-dose cards are packaged by the state of the art SynMed robotic packaging system which increases accuracy over human packaging and allows for limited contact medication preparation. The goal is to offer a streamlined approach to medication management throughout your organization. We also offer printed medical records and can interface with multiple eMAR systems so you can choose the documentation system that works best for you. Availability Connecticut Pharmacy is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Deliveries are scheduled to each community twice daily. After hours, an on call pharmacist can address all urgent needs. Our compounding department can create unique strengths and formulations of medications to meet the specific needs of your patients, including flavored formulations for people and pets. Support and Training We offer ongoing staff training and in-services, as well as assistance with medication QA and records changeover. Our consultant pharmacist is available to assist with chart reviews and fall prevention programs, as well as to attend IDT and QA meetings with your team. In addition, we are active with the Alzheimer’s Association and the Connecticut Assisted Living Association to ensure we stay up to date on current best practices.
