Connected Minds (Neural & Machine Systems for a Healthy, Just Society) is a collaborative program funded by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF, 2023-2030) that builds on understanding of how humans and intelligent machines interact in society. Connected Minds is hosted at York University with partner institution Queen's University. Vision: The Connected Minds Program envisions a world where breakthroughs in technology promote a healthy and just society for all, with special focus on the Indigenous Peoples of Canada. Mission: Our transdisciplinary research team and partners will pursue research and co-create technologies that optimize the benefits and mitigate the risks of the new techno-social collective. Supported by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF) and 50+ industry, hospital, and community partners, Connected Minds will support programs, researchers, and trainees to create a global hub of critical transdisciplinary scholarship on the configuration of social power and systemic barriers that underpin advances in emerging technologies.
