Most companies run on a story about how they work. The story is usually wrong. Conduit is an organisational engineering firm. We measure the distance between what leadership believes is operationally true and what the operational record actually shows, and then we engineer it closed. Our work has been delivered for the United Nations, the Australian Government, the US Government and Qatar Airways. We work with founder-led and MD-led Australian companies between 20 and 200 staff — usually at the point where the business has outgrown the systems it was built on. The symptoms are consistent. Decisions still route through the founder. Process lives in people's heads rather than anywhere it can be transferred. And the numbers reaching the board no longer match what's happening on the floor. Four phases: Systems Mapping — what the business actually does, measured from the record rather than from interviews. Architecture Design — the decision rights, ownership and handoffs required for the business to run without its founder. Systems Build — the infrastructure, documentation and instrumentation that makes it real. Independence Validation — proof it holds without us, and without you. We measure the work against one standard: could a competent operator run this business at full performance without the founder in the room. Everything else is activity. Melbourne and Sydney.
