Condamine Alliance Information

At Condamine Alliance, our mission is to support communities to achieve sustainable natural resource solutions. Located at the headwaters of the Murray-Darling Basin in southern Queensland, the Condamine catchment has a rich agricultural history. Even today, industry continues to thrive, producing food and fibre across some of the most productive country in Australia. Stretching across 2.5 million hectares, our region’s urban centres of Toowoomba, Dalby, Chinchilla and Warwick are bustling with growth. Home to approximately 233,000 people, population across the catchment is expected to rise by around 50,000 people by the year 2036. Since 2002, we have worked across the Condamine catchment to repair and conserve the environment and promote sustainable agriculture. In partnership with Landcare, Indigenous and community groups, and regional Councils, we work alongside communities to embrace an adaptive approach to natural resource management. Our programs centre around the protection, conservation and sustainability of water, land and wildlife, and in 2014/15, we invested over $2.5 million across the catchment, improved more than 26,000 hectares of land and engaged with close to 5,000 people.
