Acton is a suburban community located 25 miles northwest of Boston with a full range of services including an active town government, top-notch libraries, a nationally accredited police department, a full-time fire department, and local and regional school systems that are ranked among the top in the state. Commerce continues to thrive and grow in Acton due in large part to its prime location along Routes 2, 27 and 111, the commuter train stop, and its proximity to Route 495. A wide range of retail stores and services, a community theater, various types of commercial recreation and several museums, can all be found in Acton.

Littleton, Massachusetts (population 9,300), is located 26 miles northwest of Boston. The town's location along Interstate 495 at Route 2-- with its easy access to the Massachusetts Turnpike, the Route 128 high-tech corridor, and downtown Boston-- has made it attractive to commercial businesses. IBM's MassLab software campus-- its largest such facility in North America-- opened in Littleton in June 2010, with 2,200 employees occupying 490,000 square feet of office space in Littleton's Village Common zoning district. The Town of Littleton was founded in 1714 and is governed by an Open Town Meeting / Board of Selectmen / Town Administrator form of government. The Town provides general governmental services for the territory within its boundaries, including police and fire protection, solid waste transfer station, a library, street maintenance, and parks and recreational facilities. Water and electric services are supplied by the Town of Littleton Electric Light and Water Departments. Public education in grades K-12 is provided by the Littleton School Department at two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.
