Boston SCORES provides urban youth with team-based education programs that promote health & well-being, academic engagement, and civic leadership. Boston SCORES is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization and an affiliate of The SCORES Network.

Since 1994, Operation Jump Start (OJS) has provided the comprehensive resources, structure and mentoring needed to enable youth in underserved communities to reach their potential through a college education. Its flagship program is the College Access Program whereby, starting in the 8th grade children receive individual mentoring, educational case-management, and developmentally-based workshops through 10th grade. OJS also provides enhanced support to high school upperclassmen and college students in the program called College Success. Through College Success, youth receive workshops and case management sessions that address the transition to college for high school students and their parents, college application assistance, and college readiness skills. Once college admission is obtained, the program is there to provide individualized case management, financial, educational and emotional support. This support is designed to meet the specific needs of each college student and continues until the student achieves a bachelor's degree. For nearly 25 years, OJS has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of vulnerable youth. OJS mission: Operation Jump Start helps low-resourced, high potential first-generation students get in, stay in, and graduate from a four-year college. We do this by providing academic support, mentoring, and exposure to a broader world. Our impact… * 100% attain on-time high school graduation * Students receive 1,500+ one-one-one mentoring hours * 90% attend college immediately following high school graduation * 85% receive a four-year degree within 6 years of high school graduation * Over $50,000 in college scholarships awarded * Over 300 youth are served annually

The "I Have A Dream" Foundation--Los Angeles (IHADLA) provides long-term support to youth living in underserved communities to empower them to fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. ABOUT US The national “I Have A Dream” Foundation was established in 1981 by businessman, Eugene M. Lang, who was struck by the need for help and services that would encourage and enable young people in under-served communities to stay in school and ensure a more successful future for themselves and their families. Since then, over 200 “I Have a Dream” programs have operated in 28 states, Washington, DC and New Zealand. Established in 1987, the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – Los Angeles is the only educational organization in L.A. that works with elementary school children through high school graduation and transitioning into college and guarantees them tuition and support through their post-secondary education. We have recently launched a college and career program that helps college students stay in and finish college and find work. Since its founding, IHADLA has supported over 11,500 community individuals – the students, their parents and siblings. Toward that end, students receive IHADLA’s full services of in- school, after-school, and year-round academic, social, and emotional support, designed to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty. WHAT WE DO IHADLA sponsors an entire grade level in an elementary school in underserved communities, working with students for 12+ consecutive years through high school graduation and beyond. We work to break the cycle of poverty by sponsoring entire classes of first graders in Title I schools.
