A.i. is living that post-Space Age wet dream, commingling the analog and the digital, the organic and the synthetic, the muscle and the machine. The bands music has been classified as rocktronic, fit for both the rock and dance club. Based out of Los Angeles, A.i. consists of two brothers, guitarist-singer Nick Young and drummer-bassist Zack Young. Their latest album titled Secrets, is expected to be released on their website aimusic.com in early 2010. Originally a trio, the band signed with Dreamworks Records and released their debut self-titled album in 2002, produced by Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna. The album was made along with keyboardist Pablo Manzarek, son of The Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek. Pablo Manzarek was later replaced by keyboardist Milen Kirov for their follow-up album Sex & Robots, released in September 2007. Music runs in the family of founding members Nick and Zack Young. Their great uncle, Joe Young, was one of the founders of ASCAP in 1914 and top songwriters of Tin Pan Alley. He wrote over 600 songs including such hits as Al Jolsons My Mammy, Im Sittin on Top of the World, and Fats Wallers Im Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter. The band has always taken a DIY approach to their music and has recently begun directing their own music videos, which are expected to be released with their upcoming album. Their controversial video Palin Strips For McCain released during 2008s presidential election, created a sensation on youtube and featured the electro-rock song Hey Now! from their album Sex & Robots. New songs to watch out for from Secret include, 21st Century Love, Toy Money, and Subhuman.
