Compower AB Information

Compower is a technical consultant company, based on Sweden, which is currently working on developing new ways to generate both heat and power in private homes. Compower was founded in 2004 by Anders Malmquist and Lars Malmrup, based on their 25 years of industrial research and development of small, turbine-based power-generating systems combined with a patent-pending technology for external burning/combustion. Originally based out of Lund and Glimåkra in Skåne, the operation has now mostly moved to the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm where research is done at the labs of the Department of Energy Technology. Lars Malmrup, chairman and Marketing Director. Mr Malmrup has been working since the early ’70s in the Volvo group, in its operations for small gas turbines, turbochargers and advanced drive trains. Lars was the Managing director for these operations during a long time and he also worked with marketing and sales of small-scale power generation systems in Europe, US and Japan. During the years, he has built up an extensive global network on the distributed generation market as well as on engines, gas turbines and CHP and their applications. Dr Anders Malmquist is Managing Director. He has conducted university and industrial research on electric power generation from micro turbines, as well as extensive system studies and field tests of micro turbine driven hybrid vehicles. Together with the co-founders of Compower, he made pioneering work on the integration of micro turbines and electric generation systems. During 15 years, Anders has been in different positions within the ABB group, incl. international R&D coordination and technical manager for the electric motor operations. Compower’s research is a part of the larger umbrella project Explore Polygeneration, a European Union financed project to link together the latest research in the Energy field.
