Competent Technologies, Inc. is a software development company focused on providing tools and technology to the publishing, construction, and medical services industries to help increase revenue and provide better customer service while decreasing costs. CTI's flagship publishing product is encompass. encompass is a customer communication management product that handles fax, Email, web site, and other data-oriented communication with a newspaper's customers. encompass, or its predecessor FaxAction, is currently installed at 26 newspaper sites that use a diverse mix of publishing systems. encompass is fully integrated with, and installed at, sites that use SII, DTI, APT, Harris, Unisys, Atex, and Mactive front-end systems and supports both Windows and Macintosh clients. In addition to providing software and services for the Publishing industry, CTI can also provide programming and training support in numerous standard computing areas. CTI has recently established a number of marketing and/or development relationships with major vendors, including Mactive , Meridian Project Systems , Managing Editor, Inc. , Brooktrout Technology, Captaris, Scansoft, and Omtool. In addition, CTI is an associate member of the NAA and has participated in the NAA's Classified Advertising Standards Task Force .
