Compass Distributors is basically just an "idea". It has no physical existence. It has no offices, bank account or employees. It's mailing address is the personal Post Office box of one of its associates and its e-mail address is the personal e-mail address of one of its associates. The "idea" was created back in the 1970s by a young woman who had become a Christian and started to regularly and seriously study the Holy Bible. She became very disturbed by the fact that churches in the area where she lived were not teaching the message that she found in the Holy Bible. In 1968, she met a man who professed to be a Christian and had also been very seriously studying the Holy Bible since 1966. He also was very disturbed by doctrine that was being taught in churches. He had attended services in almost every denomination in the area; and found quite a number of different messages being taught that were not found in the Holy Bible. For example, a certain church taught that a person becomes a Christian when the minister dips his finger in water and uses it to put a sign on the forehead of the person. Another taught that any person can go to heaven after death as long as they "do the best that they can". Another taught that all a person has to do is "accept Christ as their Savior". These are just a few examples of the messages taught by churches in the area, and none of them can be found in the Holy Bible - anywhere! They were married in 1969 and, together, they continued to regularly and seriously study the Holy Bible. They also began to realize that false messages were being taught by preachers on radio and television and in articles written for newspapers and magazines and in books about the Holy Bible. The woman decided to start a ministry. She began to contact people that she had met in churches and told them to ignore everything that they had read about the Holy Bible and everything they had been taught about the Holy Bible and to read the Holy Bible themselves to see what it actually does say.
