Compasion LLC Information

Compasión, LLC is a DBHDS-licensed mental health agency that provides numerous services to the Hampton Roads community and surrounding areas. It was established in 2008 by Mr. George McGaskey who had the vision and desire to assist at-risk youth with emotional and behavioral difficulties that create a barrier to academic and social success. Our Therapeutic Day Treatment program is dedicated to identifying, meeting, and advocating for the needs of our youth in the home, school, and community. Youth are supported to maximize their potential through sound clinical practices addressing their mental health struggles. Since its inception, Compasión, LLC has recognized that in order to best serve the needs of the community, other services need to be provided to fully support the children as well as their families, in addition to those struggling individually with mental illness. Therefore, the company also offers Mental Health Skill-building services for such adults in the community to encourage and support work towards independence, and is gearing up to offer Offender Re-Entry services to assist with re-integration struggles for those released from prison who may have the additional task of managing mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Compasión, LLC's general practices are directed by Mrs. Lateacia Sessoms who is a Qualified Mental Health Professional and has been leading this company since 2010. She is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and Board Certified Human Services Practitioner and has completed all requirements to sit for the Licensed Professional Counselor examination. The clinical practices are overseen by Amanda Britton, LPC who provides psychotherapy and staff supervision. Additionally, we have Master's and Bachelor's Level clinicians and counselors working diligently to provide the most effective interventions.
