Compaction Australia Pty Ltd is in the business of hiring "value for money" compaction and small equipment to the Civil and Construction Industry. Compaction Australia began when plant operator Tony McChesney had the opportunity to purchase a Towed Roller in 1989, and began life as Wymac Services. One year later the fleet had grown to 8 units, and by 1992 the enterprise was housed in its own depot at Stapylton, subsequently adding 2 self-propelled rollers in 1993. Tony's background includes 25 years experience as a plant operator, with particular emphasis on road building, and it is these credentials that underpin the success of the Company. All members of the Compaction Australia Team also share this practical first-hand understanding of the real challenges facing contractors and operators, and this ensures customers always receive the best possible service. The Company was incorporated in 1994 as Wymac Equipment & Hire Services, and undertook side-drain contracts until 1996 when it was decided that the company should concentrate all its energy on equipment hire. In 1997 it was resolved that the name be changed to better reflect the vision of the organization, and so became Compaction Australia Pty Ltd. As part of the on going policy of modernisation and improvement of all our machinery, the first brand new Roller joined the fleet in 1998, with others continuing to be added as required. Constant upgrading of all the equipment ensures our service is always optimal and meets or exceeds the requirements of all regulatory authorities. A range of smaller equipment is being constantly added to serve the needs of the Civil and Construction Industries. Following the acquisition of the general hire business, Lockyer Hire Service based in Yamanto, both businesses are now able to offer a full range of equipment.
