Community Partnerships for Protecting Children is a partnership of parents, neighborhoods, schools, interfaith communities, businesses, police, social service providers, and child welfare services working together to support and strengthen families, and keep children thriving in their communities. What makes CPPC different from other initiatives that have been started? CPPC is a locally driven, national initiative built upon the recognition that the traditional state-agency, enforcement-oriented approach to child welfare is not the best way to prevent child abuse and neglect. Instead, CPPC's approach aims to enhance the lives of children and their families by engaging neighbors and communities to support families before there is a need for more disruptive and costly intervention. CPPC is intended to be very collaborative and neighborhood-based. As such, program components include establishing a neighborhood central service location (a hub), bringing service providers into the community on a regular basis, and creating informal neighborhood supports for the community. Who does CPPC serve? CPPC partners may live, work or pray in a CPPC neighborhood and through these contacts, individuals and families connect to CPPC. CPPC is not "program" but a collaboration and through this collaboration of partners, the community and its members receive the needed services and supports. Where is CPPC available?
