Community Food Bank is the largest community-based, nonprofit organization in the Central California region. As a member of Feeding America, we are dedicated solely to ending hunger in the Central Valley of California. Our mission is to address the immediate nutritional needs and provide sustainable solutions for the food insecure through the operation of an efficient food acquisition and distribution system, community outreach, and public education. Our organization has experienced tremendous growth since its inception in 1992 and now serves as the center of a vast network of more than 200 nonprofit agencies throughout Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare and Kern Counties. We operate several food distribution and outreach programs which, combined, serve more than 280,000 people each month and distribute more than 39 million pounds of food each year. Volunteers and donors are vital to our success. We rely on more than 7,000 volunteers each year to help with our distribution and outreach programs, and for every $10 we receive in donations, we are able to feed a family of four for a week.
