LISC is one of the country’s largest community development organizations, helping forge vibrant, resilient communities across America. LISC works with residents and partners to close gaps in health, wealth, and opportunity so that people and places can thrive.

Since 1992, Public Allies has helped thousands of underrepresented emerging leaders serve our country, get on successful pathways to higher education and careers, and bring communities together to work for the common good. Along with our Custom Leadership Labs and Civic Action Projects, we operate our signature AmeriCorps program nationwide. We also advocate and invest in our alumni network numbering in the thousands, and are a catalyst for collaboration among our several hundred nonprofit partners. Public Allies' mission is to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it. We are grounded in the conviction that everyone leads — that everyone can make a difference and work to inspire more citizens to believe in themselves, step up, and act.
