Established by a decree from H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai in July 2008, the Community Development Authority (CDA) focuses on all aspects of community development in Dubai in a sustainable, holistic, innovative, and inclusive manner—through strong partnerships with government, private, and non-profit sectors. We are committed to empowering individuals, strengthening families, and fostering community belonging—with a special focus on children of determination, senior citizens, orphans, juveniles, and other vulnerable groups. Our integrated services are designed to protect rights, promote inclusive education and employment, and support families and communities through awareness and training programs. Our Impact in Action: • Operates rehabilitation centers, supporting children of determination through therapy, education, and family engagement. • Champions active aging, enhancing participation and wellbeing of senior citizens. • Offers financial social support to eligible individuals, ensuring protection and economic inclusion. • Empowers individuals through tools, training, and opportunities to achieve financial autonomy. • Runs key facilities: Soun Center (for juveniles), Family Village (a family-based model for orphans), and Ownak Center (for individuals recovering from addiction). • Operates Majalis across Dubai as neighborhood and community hubs to enhance cohesion, intergenerational dialogue, and public awareness. Community Engagement: CDA promotes volunteering and civic participation through programs that empower youth and residents to contribute to Dubai’s social fabric. Governance: We license and oversee social service providers, ensuring quality, sustainability, and transparency. Our mission aligns with Dubai Social Agenda 2033—promoting national identity, supporting family and social cohesion, advancing wellbeing, and ensuring no one is left behind.
