The Communications Club was organized to assemble a power- hungry community of Fairfield University students that share a passion for communications and public relations, its surrounding fields, and networking with successful alumni. Fairfield University offers an extensive course load for its communications majors and minors, that goes far beyond the classroom. From first-hand experience, students can attest that the seminars, community-engaged learning services, shadow programs and job resources provided by the university have helped thus far in creating a bright future ahead. As communications students, the only aspect of our educational experience that seeked improvement was the on campus engagement. Having an open space for students who shared a similar passion, and dedication to their future was the only piece missing from a well-rounded educational experience. Thus, the Fairfield University Communications Club was born. Rising Juniors at the time, Jolie Zindman, and Sara Gerard collaborated to create an opportunity for fellow stags to make connections amongst each other, working to build relationships. Additionally, being able to network with alumni directly that can offer real-world advice that a textbook cannot. After accessing the right channels, and recruiting an impenetrable executive board the club launched its first meeting in the fall of 2020. The Comm Club offers weekly round table discussions about current events, offers alumni seminars, and most importantly a space for the driven students of Fairfield University to come together and build a community of comunications professionals.
