Commonwheel Artists Co-Op Information

Commonwheel Artists Co-op is a co-operative art gallery located at 102 Canon Ave., Manitou Springs, Colorado. Our member artists create their artwork at their studio and bring the work in to stock their area. Then each of our 35+ members works as a sales person to sell the artwork to our customers. We also do all the back office work of running the business. We have committees that are tasked with scheduling and hosting our monthly gallery events, perform building maintenance and purchasing of sales supplies, hosting our annual events, and bringing in new artwork and members when we have a vacancy. Our paid sales staff includes a bookkeeper, marketing manager, and shipper. Other than that all the work is done by one of our members as part of their business commitment. Our maniacally democratic business model has been in place since our inception in 1974. We were birthed out of the "hippie" movement, and the same egalitarian model still holds up today.
