Common Data Access Ltd (CDA) Information

Common Data Access Limited (CDA) is a dormant wholly-owned subsidiary of Offshore Energies UK. The company was established by industry in 1995 and for the following 27 years, worked within the offshore oil and gas industry to promote good data management practices, and deliver collaborative industry solutions focussed on collection, management, and sharing of UKCS subsurface data. This initiative led directly to the creation of the UK's first National Data Repository, operated by the (then) Oil and Gas Authority. With the transition of CDA's UKOilandGasData system to become the NDR, CDA's business has reached a natural pause, and its activities in support of industry data managers, and the growth of energy data management as a discipline are now delivered through Offshore Energies UK, its parent company.
