ComArchive provides End Users with:A tamper-proof electronic copy of all information entering and leaving their mailboxAn easy way to search email information (including attachments)An audit trail over the lifecycle of each email, including which folders the email has been in and any changes made to that email. ComArchive provides End users with a personal electronic archive of emails entering and leaving the Microsoft Exchange installation. In principle this means having an "endless mailbox" without quota on size. Emails that have been deleted from Microsoft Outlook will be made available to End Users through the electronic archive provided by ComArchive. This document is intended to help end users become more familiar with the behaviour of searching for information instead of organising information. Note regarding email attachments: All attachements are archived along with the corresponding email. However not all content of an attachments can be made searchable, for example text in picture cannot be made searchable - please contact your System Administrator for information on currently supported formats that the email archive can make searchable. What has changed in Microsoft Outlook and/or Microsoft Exchange since ComArchive was installed? The answer is - nothing! Both Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange function exactly as prior to the installation of ComArchive. End Users have the same features and nothing has been disabled. ComArchive does not alter or change any data in Outlook or on the Exchange Server. Mobile access, OWA (Outlook Web Access), and other related applications, are still fully functional and operational. Who has access to personal electronic archives in ComArchive? An End User's electronic archive in ComArchive is their personal archive. The exception to this rule is, when an End User allows other users to see, send or administer their email account in Microsoft Outlook (e.g. let a colleagues act on their behalf). In this case End Users will also have access to search the personal electronic archive of other users. What other users can do with an email account is set up in Microsoft Outlook through "delegation rights". Refer to the online electronic help for Microsoft Outlook for details on how to setup delegation rights. Only the individual user and users that have administration rights (normally the System Administrator) will have access to information stored in an electronic archive. This is no different from the current setup of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange.
