A rich quality of life is what a caring team of staff and volunteers at Coltrane LIFE Center has been providing to Cabarrus County older adults and their families since 1974. Conveniently located on Corban Avenue - Highway 73 in Corcord, North Carolina, the center is housed in a beautiful new facility designed specifically for adult day health care. The Center serves up to 94 older and disabled adults each weekday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The Center occasionally offers additional services on Friday evenings and on Saturdays. Participants of Coltrane LIFE Center receive a specialized plan of care specific to their needs and desires. A daily program of services and activities enhance the social, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of seniors involved in the Center. Programs and activities include exercise, music, arts and crafts, field trips, devotionals, memory classes and invaluable interaction with people their own age. With a full time nurse on staff, participants also receive health monitoring, rehabilitative therapy and assisted with medication administration and personal care (such as bathing and toileting). Participants may be picked up by friendly drivers at their doorsteps, brought to the center and then taken back to their homes after an enjoyable day. Coltrane LIFE Center participants enjoy a nutritious, USDA-approved breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Those with special health needs receive therapeutic diets. Payment for LIFE Center services is flexible and affordable. The Center contracts with state and county agencies for participants who need financial assistance. Through generous support from United Way and the community, the Center maintains affordable rates and offers some scholarships.
