Incorporated as Colonial Fire & General Insurance Company Limited in 1955 by the late Cyril Lucius Duprey the founder of CLICO. COLFIRE was the first subsidiary of Colonial Life Insurance Company (Trinidad) Limited. In 1957 COLFIRE opened its’ doors in Port of Spain, as a small specialized company of Underwriters, qualified to assist customers in all types of General Insurance cover. Initially functioning as the General Insurance arm of CLICO, COLFIRE now operates as a separate legal entity and the second oldest subsidiary under the umbrella of the C L Financial Group.
