Tech talents want to work freely and independently and focus on building great tech products and therefore choose to freelance. But Freelancing has its downsides and requires them to do sales, there is no community to be part of, it does not provide them with a financial safety net and the legal & software setup for their everyday work is complicated (no entrepreneurial upside).
