COGdesign Information

COG Design expands equitable access to green and open spaces through community-focused participatory landscape design. We envision a future where green and open spaces reflect place, history, and culture and promote the health and well being of all people. Founded in 1997, COGdesign partners with diverse community groups throughout Greater Boston to build green spaces. We connect grassroots groups in underserved neighborhoods with landscape architects, designers, and volunteers to co-create beautiful, safe, and healthy parks and other open spaces that meet the needs of local communities. Since our founding, COGdesign has helped more than 30 communities design more than 130 green spaces. The unmet need for these green spaces is high. Our goal is to expand and scale COGdesign’s robust community engagement work to help fill this need.
